Resolution 79-15917 RESOLUTION NO. 79-15917 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE MAYOR AND THE CITY CLERK TO EXECUTE A DEED (A COPY OF WHICH IS ATTACHED HERETO AND MADE A PART HEREOF AS EXHIBIT "A") GRANTING TO THE MIAMI BEACH REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY FOR REDEVELOPMENT PURPOSES THAT PORTION OF PARCELS A, C & D AS DESIGNATED ON THE MIAMI BEACH REDEVELOPMENT PLAN AS AMENDED WHICH IS OWNED BY THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, ALL LOCATED BETWEEN ALTON ROAD ON THE EAST, BISCAYNE BAY ON THE WEST, FIFTH STREET (MAC ARTHUR CAUSEWAY) ON THE NORTH AND GOVERNMENT CUT ON THE SOUTH. WHEREAS, the City of Miami Beach created the Miami Beach Redevelopment Agency to eliminate slum and blighted areas on South Beach; and WHEREAS, the Commission of the City of Miami Beach approved the Redevelopment Plan for the area on March 2, 1977; and WHEREAS, a portion of said plan provides that the City will give title to Miami Beach Redevelopment Agency to the lands which are owned by the City designated on the Miami Beach Redevelopment Plan as Parcels A, C & D, all located between Alton Road on the East, Biscayne Bay on the West, Fifth Street (MacArthur Causeway) on the North and Government Cut on the South; and WHEREAS, the Miami Beach Redevelopment Agency has requested a Deed for said property; and WHEREAS, the Miami Beach Redevelopment Agency has entered into a preliminary agreement with the Master Developer to develop the project in accordance with the Plan; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY.ThTHE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH: Section 1. The Mayor and City Clerkarehereby authorized and directed to execute a deed la copy of which is attached hereto and made a part hereof as Exhibit "A") granting to the Miami Beach Redevelopment Agency for Redevelopment Purposes that portion of Parcels A, C & D as a esignated on the Miami Beach Redevelopment Plan as amended, which is owned by the City of Miami Beach, all located between Alton Road on the East, Biscayne Bay on the West, Fifth Street (MacArthur Causeway) on the North and Government Cut on the South with the understanding that the Chairman of the Miami Beach Redevelopment Agency will hold the Warranty Deed in escrow until such time as the Master Developer has executed the Development and Disposition Contract anddeposit the $5.3 million as provided herein within 90 days hereafter, the Warranty Deed will be returned from escrow by the Chairman of the Miami Beach Redevelopment Agency to the City of Miami Beach.
