A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING EXECUTION
OF A LEASE WITH CLUB ON THE BAY, INC. , FOR THE
PURPOSE OF LEASING THE ISLAND VIEW HOSPITAL PROP-
ERTY FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF A RECREATIONAL AND
CLUB FACILITY.
WHEREAS, the City of Miami Beach and Club on the Bay, Inc. ,
desire to enter into a lease for the purpose of leasing the Island
View Hospital property for the purpose of developing a recreation
and club facility; and
WHEREAS, the initial term of this lease shall be for a
period of thirty (30) years, with two twenty (20) year options; and
WHEREAS, the City of Miami Beach will receive a fixed
minimum rental for the Demised Premises in the sum of $88, 000. 00
' per annum, to be renegotiated before the expiration of the initial
term and, if extended, at the expiration of such extended term; and
WHEREAS, in addition to the fixed minimum rent, and as
part of the total rent to be paid, the City of Miami Beach will
receive 5% of the gross income, to be renegotiated at the expi-
ration of the initial term and, if extended, at the expiration
of such extended term; and
WHEREAS, an appropriate lease has been prepared and has
been approved as to legal form and sufficiency by the City Attorney,.
which document sets forth the terms and conditions of said lease,
with which the City Commission is familar; and
WHEREAS, the City Manager has recommended to the City
Commission that said lease be entered into; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission deems it to be in the best
interest of the City and its residents and citizens that said agree-
ment be entered into;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMIS-
SION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that the Mayor and the
City Clerk be and they are hereby authorized and directed to execute
said lease with Club on the Bay, Inc. , in the name and on behalf of
the City.
