A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI BEACH AWARDING TEN (10) YEAR CONTRACT
FOR THE INSTALLATION AND MAINTENANCE OF BUS STOP
SHELTERS WITH CONVENIENCE AND SAFETY CORPORATION
OF SOUTH FLORIDA, INC.
WHEREAS, on December 26, 1978, bids were called under
Invitation to Bid No. 4-79 for the installation and maintenance
of bus stop shelters with advertising for a ten (10) year period;
and
WHEREAS, the Invitation to Bid was mailed to 37 firms
and was duly advertised; and
WHEREAS, on March 5, 1979, five bids were received and
were publicly opened and read, being in substance as set forth in
Commission Memorandum No. 7608, dated July 18 , 1979; and
WHEREAS, Convenience and Safety Corporation of South
Florida, Inc. , has agreed to provide up to 100 transit shelters
at locations to be determined by the City and to pay total cost
of installation, maintenance, illumination, and waste collection
from shelter refuse containers; and
WHEREAS, the City is to receive 26.1% of advertising
gross revenues generated from advertising panels (2 per shelter) ;''
and
WHEREAS, an appropriate agreement has been prepared
setting forth the terms and conditions for the installation of
said transit shelters, and the manner and mode of payment to the
City under the provisions thereof, and said agreement having been
approved as to form by the City Attorney;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION
OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that said Convenience and
Safety Corporation of South Florida, Inc. , be and it is hereby
found and determined to be the highest and best bidder meeting
specifications and that it should and it is hereby awarded , the
right and- privilege of installing and maintaining the bus top
shelters with advertising as set forth in the specifications
made a part of said proposed agreement for a period of ten (10)
years;
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF MIAMI• BEACH, FLORIDA, that the Mayor and the City Clerk
be and they are hereby authorized to execute and deliver said
agreement in the name and on behalf of the City of Miami Beach,
Florida.
