A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING
THE EXECUTION OF A CONTRACT WITH CARR,
SMITH AND ASSOCIATES, INC. FOR PRROFESSIONAL
SERVICES IN CONNECTION WITH THE REVITALIZA-
TION OF WASHINGTON AVENUE
WHEREAS, the City Commission finds for the reasons
more particularly stated in Commission Memorandum No. 7621
that it is in the best interest of the City to enter into an
agreement with Carr, Smith and Associates, Inc. for professional
services in connection with the revitalization of Washington
Avenue; and
WHEREAS, an appropriate agreement has been prepared
which has been approved as to form by the City Attorney; and
WHEREAS, the City Manager recommends that said
agreement be entered into between the City and Carr, Smith and
Associates, Inc. ;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION
OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that the Mayor and City
Clerk be and they are hereby authorized and directed to execute
said agreement for and on behalf of the City of Miami Beach.

SUBJECT: Approval of Consultant Contract with
Carr Smith and Associates for
Revitalization of Washington Avenue
The attached agreement with Carr Smith and Associates , Inc. , has
been' negotiated by staff, pursuant to the Commission' s action of
July 18, 1979.
The agreed fee for services _is limited to 6.67 of an estimated
$1,200,000 construction cost of the project, the equivalent of
$79,200.
Funding in the amount of $150,000 is available from Work Order 2749,
appropriated from Community Development 4th Year Block Grant Funds,
providing for Washington Avenue Revitalization from 5th to 17th
Streets.
The agreement has been reviewed and approved as to form and legality
by the City Attorney.
RECOMMENDATION:
The Administration recommends that the Commission approve the attached
agreement with Carr Smith and Associates, Inc. , and authorize . the
Mayor to execute the agreement with the City.
