A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF A MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING BY
MAYOR AND CITY CLERK BETWEEN OPPORTUNITIES INDUSTRIALIZATION CENTER, INC.
AND THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, RELATING TO THE OPERATION OF A YOUTH EMPLOY-
MENT AND TRAINING PROGRAM, UNDER TITLE IV OF THE COMPREHENSIVE EMPLOYMENT
AND TRAINING ACT OF 1973, AS AMENDED, FOR FISCAL YEAR 1979/80.
WHEREAS, the City of Miami Beach, by its Resolution No. 78-15792 expressed
its desire to continue its participation in programs funded by the Comprehensive
Employment and Training Act of 1973 (CETA) as .emended, on a Consortium basis,
and
WHEREAS, said Resolution is in full force and effect, and
WHEREAS, the City has conducted joint programs with Opportunities Industrial-
ization Center, Inc. (O.I.C.) , to provide youth employment and training, during
fiscal years 1977/78 and 1978/79 and
WHEREAS, the South Florida Employment and Training Consortium requires a
Memorandum of Understanding be executed by the City and O.I.C. to provide such
programs during FY 1979/80, and
WHEREAS, said Memorandum has been recommended by the Administration and ap-
proved by the City Attorney as to form and legal sufficiency, and
WHEREAS, the City Commission deems it to be in the best interests of the
City of Miami Beach, its citizens and residents, to authorize execution of said
Memorandum;
NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved by the City Commission of the City of Miami
Beach, that the Mayor and City Clerk be and they are hereby authorized and di-
rected to execute and deliver said Memorandum for and in the name of the City
of Miami Beach.
