RESOLUTION NO. 79-16023
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, REQUESTING THE STATE OF
FLORIDA, DEPARTMENT OF NATURAL RESOURCES TO ISSUE
PERMIT FOR REMOVAL OF AN EXISTING SUBAQUEOUS 8"
HIGH PRESSURE WATER MAIN AND REPLACING IT WITH A
SU QUEOUS 12" HIGH PRESSURE WATER„ MAIN, MX-394 .
WHEREAS, an 8-inch subaqueous high pressure water main,
between Belle Isle and Rivo Alto Island has deteriorated and is in
need of replacement; and
WHEREAS, plans have been completed for replacing the line
with a 12-inch subaqueous high pressure water main and funds were .
provided in the 1978-1979 Budget; and
WHEREAS, it has been determined that prior to the removal
of the existing subaqueous water main, the City of Miami Beach must
obtain an easement from the appropriate agencies; and
WHEREAS, the easement will be located approximately 71 feet
south of the center line of the. right-of-way of the Venetian Causeway
between Belle Isle and Rivo Alto Island,. a copy of legal description
and easement application is attached hereto and made a part hereof by
reference;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION
OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that the City Commission hereby
requests an easement for theremoval of an existing subaqueous 8-inch
high pressure water main between Belle Isle and Rivo Alto Island and
replacement thereto with a subaqueous high pressure water main;
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that an application for said easement be
submitted to the Department of Natural Resources.

Legal description of the center line of a 10-foot bay bottom easement
located on the south side of the Venetian Causeway between Belle Isle
and Rivo Alto Island, City of Miami Beach, Dade County, Florida.
Beginning at a point located on the westerly property line of Belle Isle,
twenty-five and no hundredths (25.00) feet south of the center line of the
right-of-way of the Venetian Causeway, known as Bridge Road according to
Record Plat recorded in Plat Book 5, on Page 11, Public Records of Dade
County, Florida,
Thence deflecting to the left seventeen degrees, three minutes no seconds
(17°-03'-00") run southwesterly along a straight line a distance of one-
hundred and fifty-six and ninety hundredths (156.90) feet to a point,
Thence deflecting to the right seventeen degrees, three minutes, no seconds
(17°-03'-00") run .westerly along a straight line a distance of eight hundred
and eighty-four and no hundredths (884.00) feet to a point,
Thence deflecting to the right seventeen degrees, three minutes, no seconds
(17°-03'-0011) run northwesterly along a straight line a distance of one-
hundred and fifty-six and ninety hundredths (156.90) feet to a point, said
point being located on the easterly property line of Rivo Alto Island,
twenty-five and no hundredths (25.00) feet south of the center line of the
right-of-way of the Venetian Causeway, see Record Plat recorded in Plat Book 7,
on Page 50, Public Records of Dade County, Florida said point being the end
of the center line of the 10-foot easement.
As said easement having an approximate area of 0.27 acres, as shown in
area A,B,C,D,E,F,G,H A on map attached hereto and made part thereof.
