Resolution 79-16025 RESOLUTION NO. 79-16025 A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF AN AGREEMENT WITH ALEXANDER GRANT & CO. , CERTIFIED PUBLIC ACCOUNTANTS . WHEREAS, for the reasons more particularly set forth in Commission Memorandum No. 7735 , the City Commission of the City of Miami Beach deems it in the best interest of the citizens of the City of Miami Beach to enter into a contract with Alexander Grant & Co. , the terms of which are familiar to the City Commission and which contract is included in the agenda package for the meeting at which this Resolution was adopted; and WHEREAS, the City Manager recommends the City enter into said agreement and the City Attorney has approved same as to form and legal sufficiency; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that the Mayor and City Clerk be and they are hereby authorized and directed to enter into said agreement for and on behalf of the City of Miami. These funds were used to make an award for 12-million dollars for the construction of the Marina Breakwater, and approximately 12-million dollars for a second contract to construct a portion of the dock facilities for approximately 25 per cent of the dock space . One of the federal requirements is that a certified audit of the construction grant be performed. The firm of Alexander Grant and Company is presently employed as external auditors by the City and since they are familiar with the records , a proposal was solicited from them to make -the required audit . Their proposal is based on an hourly rate including out-of-pocket expenses , how- ever, the audit is not to exceed $10,Q0000.
