Resolution 79-16029 RESOLUTION NO. 79-16029
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, PETITIONING
THE GOVERNMENT OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA
TO SUPPORT THE PRINCIPLE OF THE INDIVISIBILITY
OF JERUSALEM AS THE CAPITAL OF ISRAEL.
WHEREAS, the City of Jerusalem has been the capital city
of the State of Israel throughout its ancient and modern history; and
WHEREAS, the City of Jerusalem was reunited with the State
of Israel on June 7, 1967;. and
WHEREAS, the State of Israel has provided free and open
access to the City of Jerusalem for all peoples of the world;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION
OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that the Government of the United
States of America be and it is hereby petitioned and memorialized to
support the principle of the indivisibility of Jerusalem as the capital
of the State of Israel,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted
to the President, Secretary of State, to each member of the Florida
Delegation to the United States Congress and the Prime Minister of
the State of Israel.
PASSED and ADOPTED this 19th day of September, 1979 .
