A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING ACCEPTANCE OF IPA GRANT
G-20-30 FROM THE STATE OF FLORIDA AND EXECUTION
OF CONSULTING CONTRACT BETWEEN DON RUFUS &
ASSOCIATES AND THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, BY THE
CITY MANAGER, FOR THE PRESENTATION OF WORKSHOPS
IN BETTER UNDERSTANDING OF MINORITIES , AS
DESCRIBED IN SAID GRANT APPLICATION.
WHEREAS, the City of Miami Beach has applied for
Federal Assistance to the U.S . Civil Service Commission to
present two (2) Workshops in Better Understanding of Minorities
to be presented to its Supervisory and Managerial employees, and
WHEREAS, in accordance with the provisions of the
Intergovernmental Personnel Act, an IPA Grant in the amount of
$1, 700 has been awarded to the City of Miami Beach, as part of
the Florida Statewide Grant, to assist in funding the cost of
said workshops, and
WHEREAS, the City ' s application contemplated the
issuance of a consulting contract for the use of the services
of Don Rufus & Associates in the presentation of said workshops,
and
WHEREAS, the City Commission deems it to be in the
best interest of the City of Miami Beach, its citizens and resi-
dents to have said workshops presented to its Supervisory and
Managerial employees;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION
OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that the City Manager be
and he is hereby authorized and directed to execute and deliver
said Grant Award and said consulting contract for and in the
name of the City of Miami Beach.
