A RESOLUTION CALLING PUBLIC HEARING ON
RECOMMENDATION OF THE PLANNING BOARD TO
AMEND ZONING ORDINANCE NO. 1891 SO AS TO
REFLECT ORGANIZATIONAL CHANGES IN THE
CITY' S DEPARTMENTAL STRUCTURE.
WHEREAS, the Planning Board of the City of Miami Beach,
at a Public Hearing held on October 26, 1977, approved proposed
amendments to the City' s Zoning Ordinance No. 1891, so as to
reflect the following organizational changes in the City ' s depart-
mental structure: (1) by changing the definition of Building
Official from "Public Works Director" to "Code Enforcement Direc-
tor" ; (2) by changing the term "Planning and Zoning Director" to
read "Planning Director" under that Section entitled "Definitions" ;
(3) by changing the words "Planning and Zoning Department" to read
"Planning Department" and "Department of Planning and Zoning" to
read "Department of Planning" where applicable, with the exception
of that Section entitled "Signs, Removal Required" where it shall
read "Department of Code Enforcement" ; (4) by changing the words
"Building Inspection Division" to read "Construction Services
Division" ; (5) by changing the words "Director of Planning and
Zoning" to "Director of Code Enforcement" and "Planning and Zoning
Director" to "Code Enforcement Director" where applicable, with
the exception of those Sections entitled "Board of Adjustment" and
"Changes and Amendments" where it shall read "Planning Director" ;
(6) by changing the words "Planning and Zoning" under that Section
entitled "Administration" to read "Code Enforcement" where appli-
cable; and (7) by changing the words "Department of Public Works"
to read "Department of Public Utilities" where applicable, and
WHEREAS, said action of the Planning Board has been duly
transmitted to the City Council pursuant to Section 16 of said
Zoning Ordinance;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION
OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that a Public Hearing for the
consideration of said proposed amendments to said Zoning Ordinance
is hereby called to be held before the City Commission at its
Chambers in the Cypress Room of the Miami Beach Convention Center,
Miami Beach, Florida, beginning at 3 : 15 p.m. , on the 21st day of
December, 1977, and the City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed
to publish an appropriate Public Notice of said Public Hearing to
be published in a newspaper of general circulation in the City of
Miami Beach, at which time and place all interested parties will
be heard.
