A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING A 45-DAY EXTENSION OF
THE CITY'S CONTRACT WITH THE FAU-FIU JOINT CENTER
FOR ENVIRONMENTAL AND URBAN PROBLEMS.
WHEREAS, the City of Miami Beach and the FAU-FIU Joint
Center for Environmental and Urban Problems entered into a contract
in 1976; and
WHEREAS, there was a long delay in establishing the charter
review task forces; and
WHEREAS, it is in the City' s best interest that there be
time for the Joint Center to have additional time so as to meet with
the Commission in a workshop session, to review its background paper
and to receive additional input prior to drafting a proposed new
City Charter for Miami Beach; and
WHEREAS, the requested 45-day extension of the contract
termination date will not alter the contractual obligations or
finding agreed upon in Resolution 76-15219;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF
THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that the contract termination date
of the agreement between the City of Miami Beach and the FAU-FIU
Joint Center for Environmental and Urban Problems, as adopted by
Resolution 76-15219, be and it is hereby extended for 45 days .
PASSED and ADOPTED this 21st day of December, 1977 .
