A RESOLUTION EXPRESSING SYMPATHY AND CONDOLENCES
TO THE FAMILY OF ROSEBELLE SCHER ROTH.
The Members of the City Commission of the City of Miami
Beach, Florida, duly gathered and assembled this day in regular
session, paused in their proceedings to solemnly observe the passing
of ROSEBELLE SCHER ROTH a citizen of great worth and deeply beloved
by the community.
The said members of the said City Commission of the City
of Miami Beach, Florida, invoke from the gathered assemblage in
the Chambers of the City Commission to prayer, and to honor the
memory of the said ROSEBELLE SCHER ROTH, and they did, thereupon;
WHEREAS, the untimely departure from this life of
ROSEBELLE SCHER ROTH, author and wife of former Miami Beach Vice-
Mayor BURNETT ROTH, has created within the hearts of those who
knew and loved her, a void which time alone will never fill; and
WHEREAS, ROSEBELLE SCHER ROTH, a native Floridian evolved
and lived by creative service to her fellow man and to the community
in which she lived; and
WHEREAS, ROSEBELLE SCHER ROTH was an eminent author and
humanitarian who was best known for her attempts at promoting racial
harmony; was the sponsor of the Human Relations Award for promoting
racial harmony; was the recipient of the Dade County Outstanding
Woman in Communications Award; and
WHEREAS, her work and selfless service will be her monu-
ment for countless years to come; and
WHEREAS, her memory will be cherished and will live on
in those whose lives has been touched by her dedication, sincerity,
kindness, abilities and talents;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION
OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that this testimonial of respect
to ROSEBELLE SCHER ROTH be spread upon the Minutes of the City Com-
mission, and that a copy thereof be furnished by the City Clerk to
her bereaved family with our tender, profound sympathy in their
affliction, and pray that they find comfort in their grief in the
thought and reflection that the said ROSEBELLE SCHER ROTH fulfilled
a most honorable and distinguished life.
PASSED and ADOPTED this 7th day of November, 1979 .
