A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI BEACH AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF AN AGREE-
MENT WITH FLORIDA INTERNATIONAL UNIVERSITY (FIU)
TO PROVIDE PUBLIC SECTOR TRAINING TO BE FUNDED
BY CETA; AND RESCINDING RESOLUTION NO. 79-16049,
ADOPTED 10/17/79.
WHEREAS, the City of Miami Beach, by its Resolution
No. 79-16049, authorized the execution of an agreement with Florida
International University (FIU) to provide public sector training to
be funded by CETA, and
WHEREAS, FIU upon advice of its legal counsel has execu-
ted said agreement as modified by the incorporation of certain added
language, and
WHEREAS, the City Manager has recommended that the City
accept the aforementioned modifications, and
WHEREAS, the City Attorney has approved same as to form
and legal sufficiency, and
WHEREAS, the City Commission deems it to be in the best
interest of the City of Miami Beach, its citizens, and residents
to enter into said agreement, as modified;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF
THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, that the aforementioned Resolution, be and
is hereby rescinded, and in its place, the execution of the amended
agreement, attached hereto is authorized.
