A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, PETITIONING THE GOVERNOR,
THE FLORIDA LEGISLATURE AND THE STATE ALCOHOLIC
BEVERAGE COMMISSION TO DEVELOP STRICT GUIDELINES
REGARDING DRUNK AND DISORDERLY CONDUCT EMANATING
FROM PUBLIC BARS .
WHEREAS, the City of Miami Beach is experiencing increased
harassment and abuse by vagrants who are drunk and disorderly; and
WHEREAS, the City of Miami Beach has an increasing problem
with vagrants who sleep in City streets and alleys and may be
engaging in criminal activities;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION
OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that the State Alcoholic Beverage
Commission develop strict guidelines regarding drunk and disorderly
conduct emanating from public bars and insist upon strict enforce-
ment of same including the suspension or revocation of licenses in
the event of multiple offenses in regard to drunk and disorderly
public conduct emanating from such bars;
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that a copy of this Resolution be trans-
mitted to the Governor of the State of Florida, to the Speaker of
the House of Representatives, to the President of the Senate of the
State of Florida and to the State Alcoholic Beverage Commission.
PASSED and ADOPTED this 5th day of December , 1979 .
