A RESOLUTION CALLING PUBLIC HEARING ON RECOMMENDATION
OF THE PLANNING BOARD TO REZONE BLOCK 1, PARK VIEW
ISLAND SUBDIVISION ,AND TRACT "B" , PARK VIEW ISLAND
SUBDIVISION, FROM RM-60 MULTIPLE FAMILY MEDIUM DENSITY
TO RM-24 MULTIPLE FAMILY MEDIUM LOW DENSITY, AND FOR
THE CITY TO ACQUIRE TRACT "B" FOR THE PURPOSE OF
DEVELOPING A MINI-PARK/PARKING AREA.
WHEREAS , in response to a request from the City Commission
to reconsider lowering the density on Parkview Island to 24 units
per acre, the Planning Board of the City of Miami Beach, at a Public
Hearing held on September 25, 1979 , approved a proposed amendment to
the City' s Zoning Ordinance No. 1891 , whereby Section 6 of said
Zoning Ordinance be amended by adding thereto a new section desig-
nated 6-20 , RM-24 Multiple Family Medium Low Density District; and
WHEREAS , in response to the City Commission ' s request, the
Planning Board of the City of Miami Beach, at a Public Hearing held
on October 25 , 1979 , approved the rezoning of Block 1, Tract "B" ,
Park View Island Subdivision from its present RM-60 Multiple Family
Medium Density Zoning to RM-24 Multiple Family Medium Low Density
Zoning and recommended that the City acquire Tract "B" for the
purpose of developing a mini-park/parking area; and
WHEREAS , said action of the Planning Board has been duly
transmitted to the City Commission pursuant to Section 16 of said
Zoning Ordinance ;
NOW, THEREFORE , BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION
OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that a Public Hearing for the
consideration of said proposed rezoning on Parkview Island is hereby
called to be held before the City Commission in the Commission
Chambers, City Hall, 1700 Convention Center Drive , Miami Beach,
Florida, beginning at 2 : 30 p.m. , on the 20th day of February, 1980 ,
and the City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to mail an
appropriate Public Notice of said Public Hearing to each real
property owner whose land will be rezoned to be given at least
30 days prior to the date set for Public Hearing, at which time
and place all interested parties will be heard.
PASSED and ADOPTED this 19th day of December , 1979.
