A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF
A LEASE BETWEEN THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA,
AND THE COLLEGE DISTRICT BOARD OF TRUSTEES, AGENT
FOR MIAMI DADE COMMUNITY COLLEGE, PROVIDING FOR
THE USE OF CERTAIN MIAMI BEACH ATHLETIC FACILITIES
BY THE NEW WORLD CENTER CAMPUS OF MIAMI DADE COM-
MUNITY COLLEGE.
WHEREAS, for the reasons more particularly set forth in
Commission Memorandum No. 7925 the City Commission of the City of
Miami Beach finds it in the best interest of said City to enter
into a contract with the College District Board of Trustees, pro-
viding for the use of athletic facilities by the New World Center
Campus of Miami Dade Community College; and
WHEREAS, the City Manager recommends the City enter into
said Agreement and the City Attorney has approved same as to form
and legal sufficiency;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION
OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that the Mayor and the City
Clerk be and they are hereby authorized and directed to enter into
said Lease Agreement for and on behalf of the City of Miami Beach.
PASSED and ADOPTED this 16th day of January , 19 80.

SUBJECT: Miami Dade Community College Agreement
For the past several months the Recreation Department and Miami Dade Community
College have been negotiating a joint usage facility/maintenance agreement.
An agreement was reached where the City would receive the following monies:
Maintenance Baseball Stadium 1 ,350.
Maintenance Softball Field 1 ,150.
Maintenance and Set-up Expense 6,000.
$ 8,500.
In past years Miami Dade used the facilities at no charge. This agreement
formalizes a good working relationship and adds income to the City.
The activities will be open to the public, adding an additional series of
spectator activities for the Community.
Administration Recommendation:
This administration recommends approval of this agreement as another positive
administrative move in meeting Community needs.
