SUBJECT: Mayor's Ad Hoc Small Business ask Force Motion
The purpose of this Letter to the Commission ("LTC") is to inform the Commission of a
motion passed by the Mayor's Ad Hoc Small Business Task Force during their March 11,
2019 meeting.
Members Present: Jason Loeb (Chair), Sheila Duff-Lehrman, Diego Caiola, George
Heisel, JP Morgan and Tim Wilcox.
Members Absent: Jean-Robert Latortue
MOTION: Motion to extend the Mayor's Ad Hoc Small Business Task Force
("Task Force") for a year; that members of the Task Force be appointed by
the Mayor and each of City Commissioners; and that the Mayor appoint
additional members specifically with transitional business, financial services,
technology, gig-economy, retail, and hospitality experience. The Task Force
recommends they focus on producing community small business listening
sessions/townhalls and capacity building programming, initially in North
Beach in May 2019 and then expand the sessions/townhalls throughout the
City.
