Resolution 80-16272 RESOLUTION NO. 80-16272 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, MEMORIALIZING THE UNITED STATES CONGRESS TO ADOPT LEGISLATION WHICH WOULD REMOVE THE EARNING RESTRICTION FOR SENIOR CITIZENS WHO ARE ON SOCIAL SECURITY. WHEREAS, the ravages of inflation have resulted in tremendous increases in the cost of living to senior citizens on fixed income, who are, therefore, particularly sensitive to the effects of inflation; and WHEREAS, Federal Legislation places a restriction on the amount a senior citizen can earn while receiving Social Security benefits; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that the House of Representatives and the Senate of the United States of America be and they are hereby implored and urged to adopt legislation which would remove the earning restriction for senior citizens who are on Social Security; and FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City Clerk be and she is hereby authorized and directed to furnish a copy of this Resolution to each member of the Florida Delegation to the House of Representatives and the Senate of the United States of America.
