RESOLUTION NO. 80-16280
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF LEASE
AMENDMENT WITH NATIONAL EXPOSITIONS COMPANY &
GRALLA PUBLICATIONS, FOR USE OF THE NORTH AND
SOUTH HALLS AND ALL MEETING ROOMS OF THE MIAMI
BEACH CONVENTION CENTER ON MARCH 4 - 14 , 1981.
WHEREAS, the CITY OF MIAMI BEACH entered into a lease
agreement with
NATIONAL EXPOSITIONS COMPANY & GRALLA PUBLICATIONS
hereinafter referred to as LESSEE, said agreement having been
approved by the City Commission on
NOVEMBER 1, 1978
for use of certain premises and facilities of the City of Miami
Beach, to wit:
NORTH AND SOUTH HALLS AND ALL MEETING ROOMS OF
THE MIAMI BEACH CONVENTION CENTER
for the event known as:
APARTMENT BUILDER/DEVELOPER CONFERENCE & EXPOSITION
(sponsored by Apartment Construction News)
on
MARCH 4 - 14 , 1981
and
WHEREAS, said LESSEE has requested an amendment to said
agreement as set forth in Commission Memorandum No. 8239 , a copy
of which is included in the agenda for the meeting at which this
Resolution was adopted, and
WHEREAS, all other terms and conditions of the existing
agreement shall remain the same, and
WHEREAS, an appropriate Amendment to Agreement, signed
by the said LESSEE and approved as to form and legal sufficiency
by the City Attorney, is attached hereto and made a part hereof,
the provisions of which are familiar to the City Commission;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF
THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that the Amendment to the exist-
ing lease agreement as set forth in said Commission Memorandum be

ecute said Amendment to Agreement in the name of and on behalf of
the CITY.

AMENDMENT TO AGREEMENT DATED OCTOBER 4, 1978 BY AND BETWEEN THE CITY OF MIAMI
BEACH, FLORIDA, LESSOR AND NATIONAL EXPOSITIONS CO. AND GRALLA PUBLICATIONS,
LESSEE THEREIN:
National Expositions Co. and Gralla Publications has changed its name since the
inception of the above mentioned contract and is hereby changing the name of the
lessee on the contract to its present name, to wit; Multi -Housing World and
will change the use of the facilities from Apartment Builder-Developer Conference
and Exposition (sponsored by Apartment Construction News) to the Conference for
Building Industry Professionals (sponsored by Multi-Housing News) .
Lessee wi l l also change the use dates of the premises to the following:
North andSouth Halls North and South Halls Wraparound
March 4-7, 1981 Hove In Meeting Rooms
March 8-10, 1981 Show March 4-7, 198 i ________ -Move In
March 11 -13, 1981 Move Out March 8-11 , 1931 Meetings
Commencing 8:00 a.m. , March 4, 1981 and March 12-13, 1981 Move Out
terminating 12:00 Midnight, March 13, Commencing 8:00 a.m. , March 4, 1981 and
1981 • terminating 12:00 Midnight, March 13, 1981
Lessee to pay an additional One Thousand Six Hundred and no/100 ($i ,600.00) Dollars
for use of the North and South Halls Wraparound Meeting Rooms for March 1 1 , 1981 .
Terms to be changed to read:
North and South Halls: Thirty (30 ) cents per square foot for net exhibit space sold
with a minimum guarantee of Five Thousand and no/100 ($5,000.00) Dollars for each
building for a total minimum guarantee of Ten Thousand and no/100 ($10,000.00)
Dollars.
North and South Halls Wraparound Meeting Rooms:
One Thousand Six Hundred and no/100 ($l ,600.00) Dollars for March 1 1 , 1981 .
Payments to read:
Two Thousand and no/100 ($2,000.00) Dollars payable upon execution and delivery of
this instrument, receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged; Two Thousand and no/100
($2,000.00) Dollars payable on or before October 3, 1980; Seven Thousand Six Hundred
and no/100 ($7,600.00) Dollars payable on or before January 3, 1981 ; balance by
5:00 p.m. , March 17, 1981 .
All other terms and conditions of the existing agreement to remain the same.
