A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, APPROVING THE PARTIC-
IPATION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH POLICE AND
FIRE DEPARTMENTS IN AN ARSON GRANT FUNDED BY
L.E.A.A.; AUTHORIZING THE EXPENDITURE OF LOCAL
MATCH MONIES IN THE AMOUNT OF $4 , 444 . 00
WHEREAS, for the reasons more particularly set forth
in Commission Memorandum No.8219 , the City Commission of the
City of Miami Beach finds it in the best interest of the City to
participate with other local municipalities in a Law Enforcement
Assistance Administration Arson Control Grant, partially funded
by L.E.A.A. ; and
WHEREAS, for the purposes of this Arson Grant, the
City not only pledges its support, but pledges to provide their
share of the required local match in an amount of $4 , 444 . 00; and
WHEREAS, The City Manager has recommended to the City
Commission that it would be in the best interest of the citizens
of Miami Beach to approve the participation of the City of Miami
Beach Police and Fire Departments in the Arson Control Project;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION
OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that the City Manager be
authorized and directed to take the necessary steps to insure
the participation of the City of Miami Beach Police and Fire
Departments in the Arson Control Project;
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that the disbursing officers of
the City are hereby authorized and directed to disburse the funds
required by the terms of said Grant as hereinafter directed by the
City Manager.
