RESOLUTION NO. 80-16288
A RESOLUTION APPROVING AN APPLICATION AND
AUTHORIZING FILING OF SAME FOR THE SIXTH
YEAR UNDER THE COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT PRO-
GRAM AUTHORIZED BY THE HOUSING AND COMMU-
NITY DEVELOPMENT ACT OF 1974 , AS AMENDED.
WHEREAS, a public hearing was held by the City of Miami Beach
Community Development Advisory Committee on March 4 , 1980, in accord
with federal requirements to obtain views and proposals of citizens at
the initial stage of application development, and
WHEREAS, the Miami Beach City Commission on May 21, 1980 held
and conducted a public hearing to obtain views of citizens relative to
the contents of the proposed application to the U. S. Department of
Housing and Urban Development by the City of Miami Beach for the Sixth
Year application under the Housing and Community Development Act of
1974 , as amended, and
WHEREAS, the Sixth Year application includes the 1980-81
Annual. Plan and budget, and the Housing Assistance Plan, and
WHEREAS, at the conclusion of the May 21, 1980, hearing, said
application was authorized to be filed in the amount of $2 , 437 , 000 ,
which is the FY 1980-81 entitlement, for the purposes as set forth
therein;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that said City Commission hereby approves
the filing of the Sixth Year application with the United States Department
of Housing and Urban Development for Community Development Block Grant
funds under the Housing and Community Development Act of 1974 , as amended,
and further authorizes the City Manager of said City to execute and file
said application in a timely manner to comply with applicable regulations
for and on behalf of the City of Miami Beach, Florida, in the amount of
$2 , 437 , 000, for said Sixth Year program.
PASSED and ADOPTED this 21st day of May, 1980 .
