A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, TO DETERMINE THE FEASI-
BILITY
EASI-
BILITY OF CONSTRUCTING ELEVATED WALKWAYS AS PRO-
POSED IN THE CIVIC CENTER MASTER PLAN.
WHEREAS, in 1974 the City Commission of the City of Miami
Beach adopted a policy of building a wraparound for the Convention
Center complex area , said plan recognizing the need for elevated
walkways which would connect the Convention Center , City Hall ,
Theater of the Performing Arts , the new Convention Center Hotel ,
Burdines , and the City parking garage; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Miami Beach
deems it to be in the best interest of the City for the Administra-
tion to do a preliminary study to determine the feasibility of
constructing said elevated walkways ; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Miami Beach
finds it to be in the best interest of its citizens to develop said
elevated walkways ;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION
OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that the City Manager be author-
ized and directed to determine the feasibility of constructing
elevated walkways in the Civic Center Master Plan area .
