A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF MIAMI BEACH ACCEPTING AN INTERLOCAL
AGREEMENT WITH THE TOWN OF PEMBROKE PARK
FOR COMBATING FIRES AT THE OJUS DUMP IN
EXCHANGE FOR TRANSFER OF A CITY OF MIAMI
BEACH SURPLUS 1950 SEAGRAVE LADDER TRUCK,
WHEREAS, the City of Miami Beach has a 1950 Seagrave
100 foot Aerial Ladder Truck which has been declared surplus by the
City of Miami Beach Fire Department as having fulfilled its useful
life in the City' s Fire Service, and
WHEREAS, the Town of Pembroke Park has requested an
interlocal agreement in exchange for this fire apparatus which would
commit that Town's equipment and water tanker to fires in the Ojus
Dump area adjacent to Pembroke Park for a four-year period, and
WHEREAS, past cooperation of the Pembroke Park Fire
Department extended to the City of Miami Beach Fire Department has
been exemplary and in the true spirit of intergovernmental relation-
ships, and
WHEREAS, the City Commission has reviewed the offer
of the Town of Pembroke Park, to wit:
It is agreed by the Town of Pembroke Park that the
Pembroke Park Fire Department shall , on a mutual
aid basis in the support of the City of Miami Beach
Fire Department, respond with its equipment and
especially its water tanker to fires in the Ojus Dump
area adjacent to the Town of Pembroke Park at its
southern border with Dade County. This agreement is
made in consideration of the transfer , as surplus
equipment, of the 1950 Seagrave Aerial Ladder Truck
from the City of Miami Beach to the Town of Pembroke
Park in an as-is condition. This agreement is to
extend four years from the date of transfer.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, that the City Manager and the City Clerk be and
they are hereby authorized to execute said agreement for and on behalf
of the City of Miami Beach.
