RESOLUTION NO. 80-16361
RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE CITY MANAGER
TO SUBMIT A GRANT APPLICATION TO THE STATE OF FLORIDA'S
DEPARTMENT OF COMMUNITY AFFAIRS FOR PARTICIPATION IN
THE LOCAL GOVERNMENT COMPREHENSIVE PLANNING ASSISTANCE
PROGRAM.
WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Miami Beach recognizes the
need to provide for orderly growth and management as contemplated by the Florida
Local Government Comprehensive Planning Act, and;
WHEREAS, The State of Florida seeks to assist local governments in meeting
the requirements of the Act, and;
WHEREAS, The Florida Legislature has charged the Department of Community
Affairs with administering the Local Government Comprehensive Planning Assistance
Program.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI
BEACH, FLORIDA:
SECTION 1: The City Manager is hereby authorized and directed to prepare and
submit an application under the Florida Local Government Comprehensive Planning
Assistance Program. The City Manager is further empowered to supervise and
submit all supplements, amendments and supporting data to said application which
he determines may be required to ensure that the City's application is complete
and correct in all respects. In performing such duties, the City Manager shall
be authorized to consult with the City Attorney and any and all other governmental
agencies, federal, state, county, or municipal, as well as retain private counsel
and consultants, as needed to ensure that the application is processed correctly
and promptly.
SECTION 2: The City Commission directs and commits itself and all City agencies
and divisions to comply with applicable state and local laws and administrative
regulations in the administration of this program, including but not limited to,
the commitment of matching funds, the use of all funds solely for eligible activi-
ties, and such other restrictions and requirements as are contained in said laws and
regulations as described in Chapter 9B-5, Florida Administrative Code.
