A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING A ONE YEAR EXTENSION
OF AGREEMENT WITH METROPOLITAN DADE COUNTY FOR
MOTOR VEHICLE INSPECTION SERVICES BY THE CITY
OF MIAMI BEACH EFFECTIVE OCTOBER 1 , 1980.
WHEREAS, Dade County having the exclusive right to
operate motor vehicle inspection stations within Dade County, has
delegated to certain municipalities the right to operate their own
inspection stations under the authority and administrative
direction of the County; and
WHEREAS, under the existing auto inspection program, the
County and each City share the revenues generated by that City' s
inspection station; and
WHEREAS, in order to accomplish this , an appropriate
agreement was prepared between Dade County and other munici-
palities , including the City of Miami Beach, which sets forth
certain terms , conditions and covenants expressly agreed to by the
parties to said Agreement , a copy of which is attached hereto and
made a part hereof as those set forth in haec verba; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission by its Resolution No .
76-15066, passed and adopted on June 16 , 1976, did authorize the
execution of said Agreement; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Miami Beach
being familiar with the terms and provisions of said Agreement ,
deems it to be in the best interest of the City of Miami Beach and
its citizens and residents to extend said Agreement for a period of
one year , effective October 1 , 1980 through September 30 , 1981 ;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMIS-
SION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that said Agreement is
hereby extended effective October 1 , 1980 through September 30 ,
1981.
PASSED and ADOPTED this 24th day of September , 1980.
