A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, URGING THE COUNTY
COMMISSION OF METROPOLITAN DADE COUNTY TO RE-
STORE CUTS IN FUNDS TO THE 1980-81 BUDGET FOR
THE SENIOR CITIZENS LAW CENTER.
WHEREAS, by act of the County Commission of Metropolitan
Dade County, the 1980-81 Senior Citizens Law Center Budget has been
eliminated ; and
WHEREAS, the Senior Citizens Law Center specializes in
legal problems most affecting senior citizens and is often the only
voice speaking to those needs; and
WHEREAS, access to the courts , competently represented by
counsel, is the birthright of every American, young or old, rich or
poor; and
WHEREAS, our senior citizens have devolved upon their
community a legacy of democratic ideals and equal justice under the
law;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE CITY
COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that the County
Commission of Metropolitan Dade County should and is hereby urged
to reinstate the 1980-81 Senior Citizens Law Center Budget.
