A RESOLUTION TENTATIVELY FIXING AD VALOREM MILLAGE
AND LEVYING TAXES FOR THE CORPORATE PURPOSES OF
THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, FOR THE FISCAL
YEAR COMMENCING ON THE 1ST DAY OF OCTOBER, 1980,
AND ENDING ON THE 30TH DAY OF SEPTEMBER, 1981.
BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that, pursuant to the provisions of all
applicable law, there be, and there is hereby, tentatively levied
a tax for the year A. D. 1980, on all taxable and non-exempt real
and personal property located within the corporate limits of the
City of Miami Beach, Florida, as follows:
(a) For the purpose of carrying on the government
and the administration of the City and to
provide funds for the support and maintenance
of the several City departments, and, also,
for appropriate reserves and contingencies,
including a reserve for the tax discounts and
abatements of uncollected taxes, 8.00
or 8.22 mills on the
taxable non-exempt property in the City of
Miami Beach as computed by and certified to
this City by Metropolitan Dade County.
(b) For the purpose of paying principal and interest
due on all outstanding bonds and notes of the
said City duly issued, and for a reserve for
tax discounts and abatements for uncollected
taxes, 2.31 or 2.37
mills on the dollar of the taxable non-exempt
just valuation of all said property in said
City as computed by and certified to the City
by Metropolitan Dade County.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that said total millage of 10.31
or 10.59 mills was tentatively fixed and deter-
mined in the manner provided by all applicable provisions of law,
and is in compliance therewith and that the valuations given to the
City of Miami Beach by the Director of the Department of Property
Appraisal for Metropolitan Dade County were utilized without exemption
by the City and is subject to a second and final public hearing to be
held within fifteen days.
