A RESOLUTION REPEALING RESOLUTION NO. 80-16176,
CREATING A RECREATION AND MANAGEMENT ADVISORY
STEERING COMMITTEE.
WHEREAS, the City Manager of the City of Miami Beach as reflected
in Commission Memorandum No. 8477, presented to the Miami Beach City
Commission on October 1, 1980, has recommended that the Recreation and
Management Advisory Steering committee be abolished and the functions
of the committee be assigned to the City of Miami Beach Planning Board;
and
WHEREAS, in the opinion of the City Commission the abolishment
of the committee and assignment of the functions as recommended will
best serve the City;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that Resolution No. 80-16176 adopted by
the City Commission on February 6, 1980, be and the same is hereby
repealed and the City Clerk is hereby instructed to so note the records
of the City Commission as may be applicable.

SU3JECT: RECREATION MANAGEMENT AND ADVISORY STEERING COMMITTEE
A i^eview of the federal regulations for the Urban Park and Recreation Recovery
Act 1978; Local Recovery Action Program, indicates that a Recreation
Management and Advisory Steering Committee is not required. The public input
function could be accomplished by the Planning Board.
Utilizing the Planning Board will expedite the completion of the Urban
Recreation Action Plan in compliance with the December 30, 1980 deadline
established in agreement with Dade County and the Federal government.
ADMINISTRATION RECOMMENDATION:
The Administration recommends that the City Commission not appoint members to
the Recreation Management and Advisory Steering Committee, take the necessary
action to repeal Resolution No. 80-16176 and assign this function to the
Planning Board.
