RESOLUTION NO. 80-16446
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION
OF AN AGREEMENT WITH DR. JAMES C. NICOLAS, PH.D. ,
TO SERVE AS A CONSULTANT TO THE MIAMI BEACH BUDGET
ADVISORY COMMITTEE.
WHEREAS , for the reasons more particularly set forth in
Commission Memorandum No. 2.5-,2-�� , the City Commission of the City of
Miami Beach deems it in the best interest of the City to enter into
an agreement with Dr. James C. Nicolas , Ph.D. , for the purpose of
serving as a consultant to the Miami Beach Budget Advisory
Committee; and
WHEREAS, the City Manager recommends the City enter into
said agreement, and the City Attorney has approved same as to form
and legal sufficiencies ;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE CITY
COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that the Mayor and
City Clerk be and they are hereby authorized and directed to ex-
ecute and deliver said Agreement for and behalf of the City of
Miami Beach, Florida.

SUBJECT: CONSULTANT - BUDGET ADVISORY COMMITTEE
For the past several years, Dr. James C. Nicholas, Ph.D.
has served as consultant and resource person for the
Miami Beach Budget Advisory Committee. During the past
few months, the Committee, under the chairmanship of
Dr. John Berger, has found Dr. Nicholas to be particularly
effective. The Committee has recommended, therefore, that
Dr. Nicholas be retained on a professional services contract
at the rate of $300 per day plus travel to and from Boca
Raton at the rate of 18C per mile retroactive to July, 1980.
ADMINISTRATION RECOMMENDATION:
The Administration recommends that Dr. James C. Nicholas, Ph.D.
be engaged on a professional services contract to serve as
consultant to the Budget Advisory Committee at the per diem
rate of $300 plus mileage of 18c. per mile retroactive to
July, 1980.
