A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, ADOPTING THE RECOMMEN—
DATION OF THE ADMINISTRATION AND THE CITY'S REAL
ESTATE CONSULTANT TO PURCHASE A PARCEL OF PROPERTY
COMMONLY KNOWN AS 1421 ALTON ROAD, MIAMI BEACH,
DADE COUNTY, FLORIDA, FOR THE PURPOSE OF RELOCAT—
ING THE MIAMI BEACH METERED PARKING DIVISION
HEADQUARTERS; DIRECTING THE CITY ATTORNEY TO
DRAFT AN AGREEMENT FOR APPROVAL BY THE CITY
COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA.
WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Miami Beach,
Florida, deems it to be necessary for the welfare of said City and
the inhabitants thereof to acquire for the purposes of relocating
the Miami Beach Metered Parking Division Headquarters , the follow—
ing described parcel of land situate, lying and being in the City
of Miami Beach, Dade County, Florida , to—wit :
Lots 14, 15, 16, 17 and 18, Block 109 Ocean
Beach #3, PB 2/81, Dade County, Florida,
said property being also commonly known as 1421 Alton Road, Miami
Beach, Dade County, Florida, and
WHEREAS, Mr. S. Z . Bennett , the City 's Real Estate
Consultant , has negotiated with the owner of the hereinabove des—
cribed property for the purchase of said property by the City from
the owner and his negotiations have culminated in a proposed con—
tract wherein and whereby the owner of said property agrees to sell
the said parcel of land, at the purchase price of Seven Hundred and
Eighty Thousand Dollars ; and
WHEREAS, the City Manager and the City 's Real Estate
Consultant have recommended the approval of an Agreement to
purchase said property;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE CITY
COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that it hereby
approves the recommendation of the City Manager and Mr. S. Z.
Bennett to purchase the same, subject to approval by the City
Commission of the City of Miami Beach, Florida of a suitable and
proper agreement for such purpose; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that the City Attorney be and is hereby
directed to draft an appropriate agreement for approval by the City
Commission of the City of Miami Beach, Florida.
