A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING
AND DIRECTING THE EXECUTION OF AN ADDENDUM
TO AN AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF MIAMI
BEACH AND THE MIAMI BEACH POLICE ATHLETIC
LEAGUE FOR THE EXPANSION OF THE EXISTING
FACILITY LOCATED IN FLAMINGO PARK.
WHEREAS, on April 25, 1979 , the City of Miami Beach
and the Miami Beach Police Athletic League entered into an
Agreement for the purpose of funding with Community Develop-
ment Block Grant funds the costs of constructing an addition to
the existing facility; and
WHEREAS , on January 2 , 1980, an amendment to the
Agreement was executed extending the term of said Agreement to
September 30, 1980; and
WHEREAS, energy conservation improvements and design
revisions necessitates an addendum to such contract, increasing
the compensation by the amount of $3 , 857 for a total of $108 , 857 ;
and
WHEREAS, completion of such work necessitates an
addendum to such agreement, extending the time for completion
of work; and
WHEREAS , an appropriate addendum to the April 29 , 1979
agreement, as amended January 2 , 1980, has been approved as to
the legal form and sufficiency by the City Attorney, which
addendum sets forth the terms and conditions of said project; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission deems it to be in the
best interest of the City, its residents and citizens that
said addendum to the agreement be entered into;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE CITY
COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that the Mayor
and City Clerk be and they are hereby authorized and directed
to execute an addendum to the April 29, 1979 agreement, as
amended January 2 , 1980 , with the Miami Beach Police Athletic
League, in the name of and on behalf of the City, and the
disbursing officers of the City are hereby authorized and
directed to disburse the monies required by the terms of
said addendum to the agreement from Community Development Block
Grant funds, heretofore allocated for said purpose.
