Resolution 80-16498 RESOLUTION NO . 80-16498 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF AGREEMENTS, RETROACTIVELY EFFECTIVE OCTOBER 1, 1980, BETWEEN THE SOUTH FLORIDA EMPLOYMENT AND TRAINING CONSORTIUM, AND THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FOR THE PER- FORMANCE OF CERTAIN PROGRAMS UNDER THE COMPREHENSIVE EMPLOYMENT AND TRAINING ACT OF 1973, AS AMENDED WHEREAS, the City of Miami Beach, by its Resolution No . 78-15792, expressed its desire to continue its participation in the Federal Comprehensive Employment and Training Act of 1973, as amended, on a Consortium basis ; and WHEREAS, said Resolution is in full force and effect; and WHEREAS, the City of Miami Beach, desires to implement and operate Public Service Employment programs under Titles IID and VI of the Act, in the amounts six hundred ninety eight thou- sand, seven hundred ( $698,700.00 ) dollars , and three hundred sixty three thousand, nine hundred ($363 ,900.00 ) dollars , re- spectively, to be paid from Federal funds received for that purpose, said programs to continue for twelve months , commenc- ing October 1, 1980; and WHEREAS , the Consortium has approved and agreed to said programs , all as evidenced by written agreement , the terms and provisions of which are familiar to the City Commission, and are approved by the City Attorney and recommended by the City Manager; and WHEREAS, the City Commission deems it to be in the best interest of the City of Miami Beach, its citizens and resi- dents , to enter into said agreements ; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that the Mayor and City Clerk be and they are hereby authorized and directed to execute and deliver said agreements for and in the name of the City of Miami Beach.
