DATE: February 4, 1981 TO: Mayor Murray Meyerson and )iii%ers of thei omm'ssion WI . 4 * ''YL.) FROM: 'a old T. Toa City Manager SUBJECT: REQUEST FOR PARKING SPACES FROM ST. FRANCIS HOSPITAL St. Francis Hospital has requested to lease eighty-three spaces in Lot 18X located at 65th Street and Indian Creek Drive. They have requested to lease these meters on a twenty-four hour a day, seven days per week basis for a two year period. They are making this request as they are about to enter into an expansion program. As they are requesting to lease the spaces on a twenty-four hour seven day a week basis, they would respectfully request being able to install a traffic control device so as to restrict the leased area to those St. Francis Hospital employees duly authorized to park there. This parking lot has a total of 167 spaces, however the annual revenue is less than $1,500 for the entire lot. Although there are meters allocated for permit holders, at the present time the number of permit holders using this lot varies from zero to less then ten on any given day. Therefore this lease would not have any effect on the public usage of this lot. A rental charge of $250 for each of the eighty-three spaces or $20,750 per year has been agreed to by St. Francis Hospital and the City. The lease is to become effective February 1, 1981. ADMINISTRATION RECOMMENDATION: The City recommends approval of the lease with St. Francis Hospital. It would be in the best interest of the City and would not be detrimental to the Metered Parking System. HTT:WEM:lr • r- ti 0 AGENDA ,,., ITEM r r DATE 44( • f • A .t.f` 'VP Ml ,,..• tIW' 0 ' ."'. We wish to request consideration . of an annual rate since we contemplate utilizing the lot for approximately two years . We would also ask your consideration of an installation• to control traffic in and out of the leased area if such could be accomplished ---- • without restricting public access to the remainder of the lot. That step would restrict the leased area to those St . Francis Hospital employees duly authorized to park there and would reduce the need for patrol and checking by personnel of the Meter Parking System. Your early consideration of our request would be greatly f appreciated. Very truly yours , Ckl- k".../L..... 6.40./LvIlk--- . Gene E.
