RESOLUTION NO. 81-16559
AND
AGREEMENT ADDENDUM
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION
BY THE MAYOR AND CITY CLERK OF THE AGREE-
MENT ADDENDUM INCORPORATED HEREIN.
WHEREAS, on February 6, 1980, the City Commission
accepted Bid No. 87-79 of the Wackenhut Corporation (hereinafter
referred to as "Bidder") to provide Security Guard services for
certain City facilities; and
WHEREAS, said agreement was for a period of one year,
with an option to renew for four (4) additional years; and
WHEREAS, Bidder desires to exercise said option and
renew said contract; and
WHEREAS, paragraph 10 of said contract proposal provides
that, upon application to the City, the Bidder may increase the
payment per hour to guards in order to reflect increases in
minimum wage and related administrative costs; and
WHEREAS, it is deemed necessary by the City of Miami
Beach and the Bidder to amend the contract to provide that all
shifts shall be for a minimum of eight (8) hours;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION
OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that the Mayor and City Clerk
be authorized to execute the following addendum to Bid No. 87-79 :
ADDENDUM TO BID NO. 87-79 OF WACKENHUT
CORPORATION ACCEPTED FEBRUARY 6 , 1980
BY THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH.
THIS ADDENDUM made and entered this 18th day of
February , 1981, by and between the WACKENHUT CORPORATION,
a Florida corporation (hereinafter referred to as "Bidder") and
THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, a municipal corporation (herein-
after referred to as "City") .
WITNESSETH :
It is hereby agreed by the City and Bidder that:
1. The hourly rate to be paid per guard hour is
$6 . 98 (minimum wage increase plus 11 cents Social
Security and administrative costs) .
2. That all shifts for guards requested (other than
the normal requirements for parking garages) shall
be for a minimum of eight (8) hours.
3 . That in all other respects, Bid proposal No. 87-79
is reaffirmed and and incorporated herein by reference
and made a part of this addendum.

4 . That this addendum shall be in effect for a one
