A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF MIAMI BEACH AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF
AN AGREEMENT WITH SER-JOBS FOR PROGRESS, INC.
TO PROVIDE JOB DEVELOPMENT SERVICES FOR
CERTAIN CETA SUBSIDIZED CITY EMPLOYEES, TO BE
FUNDED BY CETA
WHEREAS, the City of Miami Beach is, or in the near future will be,
party to a contract with the South Florida Employment and Training Consortium,
providing for the performance of certain services, known as Title VI Public Service
Employment, and
WHEREAS, the proposal by the City to the Consortium, as modified,
includes provision for Job Development Services to be provided to employee partici-
pants, and
WHEREAS, the proposal to provide such services by SER-Jobs for
Progress, Inc. (SER) was appropriately selected after the evaluation of eight such
proposals, and
WHEREAS, an appropriate agreement has been prepared which provides
for payment to SER to the extent that the City receives funds from the Consortium in
account of said project, and
WHEREAS, the City Manager has recommended that the City enter into
said agreement, and
WHEREAS, the City Attorney has approved same as to form and legal
sufficiency;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF
THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, that the Mayor and City Clerk be, and they are hereby
authorized to execute said agreement, a copy of which is attached hereto, for and on
behalf of the City of Miami Beach.
