Resolution 81-16595 • r - RESOLUTION NO. 81-16595 AUTHORIZING THE ACQUISITION OF TRACT "B" , PARKVIEW POINT SUBDIVISION, FOR $423 , 500 . 00 AS RECOMMENDED BY THE CITY MANAGER AND S. Z . BENNETT; SUBJECT TO NORMAL PRORATIONS AND ADJUSTMENTS; AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND CITY CLERK TO EXECUTE A SALES CONTRACT FOR SAID PURCHASE; AND AUTHORIZING PROPER FINANCIAL OFFICERS TO MAKE DISBURSEMENTS CALLED FOR UNDER CONTRACT OF SALE. WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Miami Beach, Florida, deems it necessary for the welfare of said City and the inhabitants thereof to acquire the following described parcel of land for the establishment of an off-street parking facility, situate, lying and being in the City of Miami Beach, Dade County, Florida, to-wit: Tract "B" , PARKVIEW POINT SUBDIVISION, in accordance with the Plat thereof, as Recorded in Plat Book 77 , at page 12, of the Public Records of Dade County, Florida, which property is located on Parkview Island within the City of Miami Beach, and; WHEREAS, Mr. S. Z . Bennett, the City' s Real Estate Consultant, has negotiated with the Attorney for City National Bank, Trustee, under Land Trust No. 5003918 of the herein above described property, for the purchase of said property by the City from said Trustee and his negotiations have culminated in a proposed contract wherein the Trustee of said property agrees to sell the said parcel of land at the purchase price of Four Hundred Twenty Three Thousand Five Hundred Dollars ($423 , 500 . 00) , subject to normal prorations and adjustments and a sixty (60) day closing on said purchase, and; WHEREAS, the City Manager and the City ' s Real Estate Consultant have recommended approval of the purchase of said property in accordance with the above, and; WHEREAS, the City Commission deems it desirable and in the best interest of the City of Miami Beach and its inhabitants that said proposed purchase be authorized and funded from unappro- priated retained earnings from the "metered parking enterprise fund" and/or the sale of metered parking revenue bonds authorized by special election on October 5, 1978 in the amount of Six Million Dollars ($6 , 000, 000 . 00) ; NOW THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that it hereby approves the recommendation of the City Manager and Mr. S. Z . Bennett to purchase the above described property for Four Hundred Twenty Three Thousand Five Hundred Dollars ($423 ,500 . 00) , subject to normal prorations and adjustments; and subject to a sixty (60) day closing on said purchase; OFFICE OF THE CITY ATTORNEY - 1700 CONVENTION CENTER DRIVE -MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA 33139 • • • BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that the Mayor and City Clerk be and they are hereby authorized to execute a contract reflecting the above and the proper financial officers be and they are hereby authorized to make the disbursements called for by said purchase.
