A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND CITY
CLERK TO EXECUTE AN AGREEMENT TO MAINTAIN THE
PUBLIC PARK TO BE CONSTRUCTED BY THE MIAMI BEACH
REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY ON LAND LEASED BY SAID
AGENCY FROM THE MIAMI BEACH HOUSING AUTHORITY,
IN THE EVENT SAID AGENCY CEASES TO EXIST.
WHEREAS, on March 10 , 1981, the Miami Beach Redevelopment
Agency leased certain property from the Miami Beach Housing Autho-
rity in order to construct a public park on said land, and
WHEREAS, said lease was contingent upon the City of Miami
Beach accepting the maintenance responsibility for said park in the
event the Redevelopment Agency ceases to exist, and
WHEREAS, it is deemed by the City Commission of the City
of Miami Beach that the establishment of said public park is in the
best interest of this City and its citizens.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION
OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that the Mayor and City Clerk
are hereby authorized to execute an agreement to maintain a pub-
lic park constructed by the Miami Beach Redevelopment Agency on pro-
perty adjacent to Rebecca Towers leased by said agency from the
Miami Beach Housing Authority in the event the Miami Beach Redevel-
opment Agency ceases to exist.
PASSED and ADOPTED this 1st day of April , 1981.
