RESOLUTION NO. 81-16629
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF MIAMI
BEACH, FLORIDA ALLOCATING MONEY TO THE MIAMI
BEACH REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY TRUST FUND FROM THE
CONTINGENCY FUND OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH,
FLORIDA.
WHEREAS, Chapter 2 , Article VI B, Section 2 .72 , of the
Miami Beach City Code established a Redevelopment Trust Fund
pursuant to Florida Statute 163. 387 , and
WHEREAS, the Florida Supreme Court validated the
Redevelopment Agency Bond sales on December 11, 1980 , and
WHEREAS, the City of Miami Beach, in concert with Metro-
politan Dade County must appropriate money into said Redevelopment
Trust Fund prior to the issuance of any bonds, and
WHEREAS, the Miami Beach Redevelopment Agency is, at this
time, endeavoring to sell such bonds, and
WHEREAS, the City of Miami Beach is obligated to appropri-
ate
ppropri-
ate to such Trust Fund an amount representing the incremental tax
revenue collected by the City as a result of increases in the prop-
erty tax roll in the Miami Beach Redevelopment area,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION
OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that the City of Miami Beach,
Florida, hereby acknowledges a total amount payable to the Miami
Beach Redevelopment Agency Trust Fund as that amount equal to the
incremental tax revenue collected by the City of Miami Beach as a
,result of increases in the property tax rolls in- the Miami Beach
Redevelopment area for the years 1977, 1978 , 1979 , and 1980 , pro-
vided that the City immediately appropriates from the City' s
Contingency fund that amount representing the collected increment
for the years 1977 , 1978 , and 1979; the balance representing the
increment for 1980, shall be allocated and payable in October , 1981.
PASSED and ADOPTED this 15th day of April , 1981.
