A RESOLUTION ENTHUSIASTICALLY ENDORSING THE
PROPOSAL OF THE GOVERNOR OF FLORIDA THAT THE
1983 ANNUAL CONFERENCE OF THE NATIONAL
GOVERNORS ' ASSOCIATION BE HELD AT THE
FONTAINEBLEAU HILTON HOTEL IN MIAMI BEACH,
FLORIDA AND PLEDGING ITS FULL SUPPORT AND
COOPERATION.
WHEREAS, The City of Miami Beach, Florida, is well-known
for the diversity of its many cultural and entertainment facilities,
and
WHEREAS, the City has a reputation for its pleasant
weather and warm sunshine, and
WHEREAS, professional associations and other various
organizations from all over the world come to the City of Miami
Beach to hold their conventions, and
WHEREAS, the City of Miami Beach recognizes that the
National Governors ' Association ' s Annual Conference is one of the
most prestigious of these meetings, and
WHEREAS, the City exemplifies the best that Florida has to
offer , and
WHEREAS, Governor Bob Graham, Governor of the State of
Florida, has proposed that the 1983 Annual Conference of the
National Governors ' Association be held at the Fontainebleau Hilton
Hotel in the City of Miami Beach, and
WHEREAS, the City Commission desires to express its strong
support of the Governor ' s proposal, and to welcome the consideration
of the City of the National Governors ' Association for its 75th
Anniversary Conference,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION
OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that the City of Miami Beach,
Florida, enthusiastically endorses the proposal of the Governor of
Florida that the 1983 Annual Conference of the National Governors '
Association be held at the Fontainebleau Hilton Hotel in Miami
Beach, Florida and pledges its full support and cooperation.
PASSED and ADOPTED by the City Commission of the City of
Miami Beach, Florida, this 15th day of April , 1981.
