RESOLUTION NO. 81-16678
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF
AN AGREEMENT WITH THE JEWISH COMMUNITY CENTERS OF
SOUTH FLORIDA, INC. FOR THE LEASE OF FACILITIES
LOCATED AT 4221 PINE TREE DRIVE, MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA,
FOR USE AS A RECREATIONAL COMMUNITY CENTER.
WHEREAS, for the reasons more particularly set forth in Commission
Memorandum No.9065 , the City Commission of the City of Miami Beach,
Florida finds i t in the best interest of said City to enter into an
agreement with the Jewish Community Centers of South Florida , Inc. , a
private not for profit corporation, for the purpose of leasing a certain
parcel of land and facilities at 4221 Pine Tree Drive, Miami Beach,
Florida, for use as a recreational community center; and
WHEREAS, the City Manacler recommends the City enter into said Agreement,
and the City Attorney has approved same as to form and legal sufficiency;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that the Mayor and the City Clerk be and they are
hereby authorized and directed to execute and deliver said Agreement for
and on behalf of the City of Miami Beach, Florida.

SUBJECT: LEASE AGREEMENT WITH THE JEWISH COMMUNITY CENTERS OF SOUTH
FLORIDA, INC.
The Jewish Community Centers of South Florida (J.C.C. ) have requested a lease
of City owned property at 4221 Pine Tree Drive for use as a recreational community
center.
Requests for proposals for use of the property were mailed in May. No responsive
bids were received. The Commission directed the Administration to negotiate an
agreement with the Jewish Community Center for the purpose of establishing a
recreational community center at this location.
The J.C.C. wish to present programs at the site for the enjoyment of the
surrounding community. They have agreed to provide these services, plus the
maintenance of the grounds and buildings, and a lease payment of $1.00 per year.
No cost to the City is anticipated in providing the site or services.
ADMINISTRATION RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the Administration be directed to enter into a one-year
lease agreement with the Jewish Community Centers of South Florida, Inc. authorizing
their use of the City property at 4221 Pine Tree Drive as a Recreational Community
Center.
