A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND CITY COMMISSION OF
THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, APPROVING AND
AUTHORIZING THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH TO ACCEPT IN-
KIND DONATIONS FROM MIND BODY SOCIAL, LLC, AND
PUBLIX SUPER MARKETS, INC., IN THE TOTAL AMOUNT OF
$16,500, FOR THE MIAMI BEACH PARKS AND RECREATION
DEPARTMENT'S 2019 MOTHER'S MAY WELLNESS SERIES,
TO BE HELD APRIL 30, 2019 THROUGH MAY 28, 2019, AND
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER, OR HIS DESIGNEE, TO
MAKE SUCH EXPENDITURES OR REIMBURSEMENTS
CONSISTENT WITH THE AFORESTATED EVENT AND
PURPOSE.
WHEREAS, from April 30, 2019 through May 28, 2019, the City of Miami Beach ("City")
Parks and Recreation Department will host a Mother's May Wellness Series; and
WHEREAS, this family-friendly series is free to the public and will be held throughout
Miami Beach parks; and
WHEREAS, the series of four health classes will offer Pilates, Prenatal Yoga, Mommy
and Me Zumba, as well as nutritional workshops; and
WHEREAS, City staff has secured donations from Mind Body Soul, LLC and Publix
Super Markets, Inc., in the total amount of $16,500, for the City's 2019 Mother's May Wellness
Series; and
WHEREAS, the City Administration recommends that the City Commission approve and
authorize the City's acceptance of the aforestated donations and authorize the City Manager, or
his designee, to make any necessary reimbursements and/or expenditures of the aforestated
donations in furtherance of, and consistent with, the aforestated event and purpose.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY
COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that the Mayor and City
Commission hereby approve and authorize the City of Miami Beach to accept donations from
Mind Body Social, LLC, and Publix Super Markets, Inc., in the total amount of $16,500, to
provide funding for the Miami Beach Parks and Recreation Department's 2019 Mother's May
Wellness Series, to be held April 30, 2019 through May 28, 2019, and authorize the City
Manager, or his designee, to make such expenditures or reimbursements consistent with the
aforestated event and purpose.

Adopt the resolution.
ANALYSIS
From April 30, 2019 through May 28, 2019, the City of Miami Beach ("City') Parks and
Recreation Department will host a Mother's May Wellness Series. This family-friendly series is
free to the public and will be held throughout Miami Beach parks. The series of four health

CONCLUSION
The City Administration recommends that the City Commission approve and authorize the City

Inc., in the total amount of $16,500, to provide funding for the Miami Beach Parks and
Recreation Department's 2019 Mother's May Wellness Series, to be held April 30, 2019
through May 28, 2019, and authorize the City Manager, or his designee, to make such
expenditures or reimbursements consistent with the aforestated event and purpose.
