A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, ENDORSING DR.
LOUIS HAAS, COUNCILMAN OF BAY HARBOR
ISLANDS, FLORIDA, AS A CANDIDATE FOR THE
OFFICE OF DIRECTOR OF THE FLORIDA LEAGUE OF
CITIES REPRESENTING THE 18TH CONGRESSIONAL
DISTRICT.
WHEREAS, Dr . Louis Haas has been elected to the town
council of Bay Harbor Islands for fifteen consecutive years,
during which time he has served the residents of Bay Harbor
Islands in a distinguished and diligent manner as Councilman,
Assistant Mayor and Mayor ; and
WHEREAS, Dr . Louis Haas has been an active Director of
the Dade League of Cities for fifteen years, and has held every
elective office in the League (Treasurer , Secretary, Third Vice-
President, Second Vice-President, First Vice-President and
President) , and has been chairman of the Liaison Committee and
ex-officio chairman of all committees when serving as President
of the League; and
WHEREAS, Dr . Louis Haas has served the community of
Bay Harbor Islands with his dedication to public service and his
hard work on the Bay Harbor Town Council and various organiza-
tions devoted to the enhancing of the quality of life of the
residents; and
WHEREAS, Dr . Louis Haas is currently a candidate for
Director of the Florida League of Cities, the election for which
will be held at the October , 1983 , convention;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION
OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA:
Section 1: The City Commission of the City of
Miami Beach does hereby endorse Dr. Louis Haas, Councilman of
Bay Harbor Islands, Florida as a candidate for the office of
Director of the Florida League of Cities representing the 18th
Congressional District.

Section 2 : The City Clerk is hereby directed to
send copies of this Resolution to the Dade League and the
Florida League of Cities and such other persons as shall here-
after be designated by the City Commission.
