A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, URGING THE
UNITED STATES SENATE TO PASS THE MARTIN
LUTHER KING, JR. BIRTHDAY BILL.
WHEREAS, equality of all people is the cornerstone of
the American republic; and
WHEREAS, the efforts of Martin Luther King, Jr . toward
securing these rights to people of all colors and all religions
are the proud heritage of this country; and
WHEREAS, the City of Miami Beach and the people there-
of stand proudly in support thereof;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COM-
MISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA:
That the Mayor and City Commission urge the United
States Senate to pass the Martin Luther King, Jr. Birthday Bill.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 19th day of October , 1983.
