A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, ENDORSING AND SUPPORTING
THE EFFORTS OF THE SIMON WIESENTHAL CENTER TO
INSURE HUMAN DECENCY AND DIGNITY.
WHEREAS, the dark cloud of Nazism descended upon Europe
as a shroud of hatred and destruction; and
WHEREAS, succeeding generations must be mindful of
atrocities committed, lest the lessons of vigilance bear repeat-
ing; and
WHEREAS, through the operation of a Holocaust Museum,
the conduct of holocaust programs in high schools , radio broadcasts ,
film productions , and the publication of articles by leading scho-
lars and authorities , the Simon Wiesenthal Center stands as a
living monument to the fallen millions ; and
WHEREAS, it is the commitment of all people of good will
that the sacrifice of those slaughtered shall insure human decency
for generations yet unborn;
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF
THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA:
That the efforts of the Simon Wiesenthal Center to insure
human decency and dignity be and the same are hereby endorsed and
supported.
