A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE EXECUTION AND
DELIVERY OF AN APPLICATION FOR FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE FROM
THE CHARLES STEWART MOTT FOUNDATION FOR THE MIAMI BEACH
TRANSPORTATION ASSISTANCE PROGRAM AND AUTHORIZING
EXECUTION OF THE GRANT AGREEMENT IF RECEIVED.
WHEREAS, the City of Miami Beach, in conjunction with Dade County
Metrobus, has developed a Model Transportation Assistance Program, initially funded
through a Research and Demonstration Grant from the State of Florida Department of
Community Affairs; and,
WHEREAS, State funding for said program has ended and no State of
Florida financial assistance is anticipated to be available in the near future;
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that the City Manager be and he is hereby
authorized and directed to make appropriate application to the Charles Stewart Mott
Foundation for financial assistance to the City of Miami Beach for the Miami Beach
Transportation Assistance Program.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that the Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized
and directed to execute and deliver, for and on behalf of the City of Miami Beach, any
required agreement with the Charles Stewart Mott Foundation, setting forth the City's
commitment to meet and comply with the terms and provisions of said grant, when and
if made. A copy of said agreement is made a part of this Resolution by reference.
