A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, PROVIDING FOR THE
APPOINTMENT OF A FULL-TIME EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
PROVIDING FOR DUTIES; PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
(Of Police Athletic League)
WHEREAS, there exists in the City of Miami Beach, Florida, the need for a full-
time Executive Director of the activities of the Police Athletic League (a non-profit
corporation), to promote the public safety, health, education and welfare of the
children of this City, and
WHEREAS, it is desirable and necessary that such Executive Director, of the
activities of the Police Athletic League, be a member of the Miami Beach Police
Department,
SECTION 1: That it shall be the duty of the Chief of Police, subject to the
approval of the City Manager, to appoint a Police Officer as full-time Executive
Director of the activities of the Police Athletic League (a non-profit corporation),
with such direction of the Police Athletic League to be his sole duty, and with such
duty, to be to supervise and coordinate the activities of the children in the Police
Athletic League Program; and such duty to continue on a year-round basis.
SECTION 2: Said Executive Director, following appointment by the Chief of
Police subject to the concurrence of the City Manager, shall report solely to the Chief
of Police and/or where appropriate, to the City Manager.
The provisions of this Resolution shall become effective thirty (30) days from the
date of its passage.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA:
PASSED and ADOPTED this 7th day of December , 1983.
