A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI
BEACH, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE TRANSFER OF FUNDS FROM
CONTINGENCIES AND TRANSFER OF TRAM RECEIPTS TO A SPECIAL
ACCOUNT FOR THE PURPOSE OF FUNDING THE LINCOLN ROAD TRAM
UNTIL A PERMIT IS AWARDED.
WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Miami Beach endorsed the action by
the Administration in cancelling the Permit with Trams Electric of Florida to operate the Lincoln
Road Tram; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission authorized the solicitation of proposals for tram
services within the City, including the Lincoln Road Tram; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission finds it to be in the interest of the City to continue
operating the Lincoln Road Tram until a new Permit is awarded to pursuant to the solicitation; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission approved the authorization by the City Manager for
Voyager Trams, Inc. to operate the Lincoln Road Tram Service at a cost not to exceed $3,000.00 per
week; and
WHEREAS, the source of funds to operate the Lincoln Road Tram will be $60,000.00
from contingencies for the Lincoln Road Tram for a twenty (20) week period since September 2, 1983.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF MIAMI BEACH:
1. That the City Commission authorizes the transfer of $60,000.00 from
contingencies to partly fund the operation of the Lincoln Road Tram; and
PASSED and ADOPTED this 7th day of December , 1983.
