A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE
CITY MANAGER AND CITY ATTORNEY TO NEGOTIATE A
SALE TO THE MIAMI BEACH HOUSING AUTHORITY OF
MUNICIPALLY OWNED PROPERTY FOR THE PURPOSE OF
CONSTRUCTING NO LESS THAN SIXTY UNITS OF
FAMILY PUBLIC HOUSING.
WHEREAS, the City of Miami Beach presently owns Lots 3 ,
4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 11, 12 , 13 and 14 of Block 78 and Lots 10 and 11 of
Block 53 Ocean Beach Addition No 3 , more commonly known as the
Miami Beach Police Station; and
WHEREAS, it is the intent of the City of Miami Beach to
sell to the Housing Authority an amount of land included in the
aforementioned property sufficient to construct no less than 60
units; and
WHEREAS, the sale of such property shall be contingent
upon any restrictions in the form of covenants and easements which
may run with the land; and
WHEREAS, it is in the best interest of the City of Miami
Beach to enter into an agreement of sale with the Miami Beach
Housing Authority for the aforementioned purposes;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF
THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, THAT the City Manager and City
Attorney be authorized to negotiate an agreement of sale of the
aforementioned property with the Miami Beach Housing Authority for
the purpose of providing no less than sixty units of family public
housing.
