RESOLUTION 84-17615 RESOLUTION NO. 84-17615 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, PROPOSING AN AMENDMENT TO THE MIAMI BEACH CHARTER PROVIDING FOR THE ISSUANCE OF CERTAIN BONDS BY THE CITY COMMISSION WITHOUT ELECTORAL APPROVAL WHEN THE INDEBTEDNESS IS PAYABLE SOLELY FROM REVENUE SOURCES OTHER THAN AD VALOREM TAXES; AND PROVIDING THAT BONDS, OTHER THAN REFUNDING BONDS, PAYABLE FROM AD VALOREM TAXATION AND MATURING MORE THAN TWELVE MONTHS AFTER ISSUANCE BE SUBJECT TO ELECTORAL APPROVAL. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA: SECTION 1. The City of Miami Beach has heretofore called a special election to be held on March 13 , 1984 at the time of the President ' s Preference Primary. SECTION 2. This provision shall apply to bonds issued by the City of Miami Beach, its agencies or subdivision, including municipal authorities. SECTION 3. This amendment shall become effective upon its approval by the majority of the electors of the City of Miami Beach voting on this amendment pursuant to section 5. 03 , Home Rule Charter of Metropolitan Dade County, Florida. SECTION 4. On adoption this amendment shall supersede any conflicting provisions of the Charter of the City of Miami Beach. SECTION 5 . This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
