A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF MIAMI BEACH ESTABLISHING THE CITY OF
MIAMI BEACH HEALTH ADVISORY BOARD AND
PRESCRIBING ITS MEMBERSHIP, DUTIES, POWER AND
AUTHORITY.
WHEREAS, a ballot question for the November 1, 1983
election of the City of Miami Beach pertaining to Adult Congregate
Living Facilities and the establishment of a City of Miami Beach
Health Advisory Board was adopted by the electorate; and
WHEREAS, the City of Miami Beach Health Advisory Board
is hereby created for the purpose of advising the Administration
and the Commission on matters that relate to the physical and
mental health needs of the citizens of the City of Miami Beach.
Its membership shall be composed of fourteen members appointed by
the City Manager for a period not to exceed two years from the
date of adoption of this resolution, except unexpired terms, in
which case the appointment shall be to the end of the unexpired
term only. The members of the Health Advisory Board shall be
comprised of administrators of local hospitals (4) , an
administrator from an ACLF, a representative from the nursing
profession, two citizens who are health providers, and three
consumers. There shall be ex officio a representative from the
Social Services Department (Department of Community Affairs and
Human Services) , a representative from the Police Department, and
a representative from the Fire Rescue Department (Fire Rescue
Division) .
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE CITY
COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH that the City of Miami Beach
Health Advisory Board is hereby created.

1984.
